This paper carries out an examination of the current law relating to termination of
contract. It provides an overview of the current law in general terms, examining
recent cases and principals. It also looks at termination in relation to contracts
more commonly seen in the building industry, providing specifi c clauses and a
discussion of their effects. The paper then moves on to examine the consequences
of termination of a contract and briefl y examines the doctrine of frustration.
