This article tries to find a scientific basis for subjective interpretations of
sounds in lyrical language. Recent results in the field of sound symbolism in addition
to frequency counts may help to reconcile qualitative and quantitative dimensions
of textual analysis, so that aesthetic impressions become quantifiable.
