How to build an โ€˜โ€˜openโ€™โ€™ match-fixing alert system

No image available for this title
The emergence of the internet has facilitated a dramatic change in the size and nature of one of sportโ€™s biggest issues match-fixing. Simultaneously, the internet has provided access to vast amount of data that can be analysed to look for telltale signs of this fraud. The company Sportradar has been a pioneer in this area, and now monitors games across the world for a huge number of leagues. Whilst their work has many success stories, it is also apparent that the vast majority of fixed matches are not dealt with. A public version of the Sportradar system would bring much needed transparency to the field, although developing such a system would require detailed knowledge of copyright and related laws.
