Karnevaleskes und Pikareskes als Mittel der Kulturkritik in der Fernsehserie DIE SIMPSONS – Wortstatistiken und Gattungstraditionen, Digital Humanities und Literaturgeschichte

No image available for this title
The article deals with the subversive potential of the Simpsons, that results
from the episodic structure of the narration and the non-individuality of Homer
Simpson. Both aspects are described as picaresque and carnivalesque moments – at
least as homology – i. e. early modern patterns. This questions once again modernity
and postmodernity and corresponds rather to a fundamental cultural critique than to
special social criticism. The structuralist approach is supported by methods from
the digital humanities
